While the hotel was built 15 years ago, it’s been refurbished often enough to remain both relevant and timeless, and the location ensures that it’s central without being surrounded by pubs.

Both morning coffee and afternoon tea are available in the drawing room, and you’ll be sure to meet people in the Ice Bar, with some of the most impressive cocktails in Dublin on the menu.

The Shelbourne Hotel

This is the signature five-star hotel in Dublin, and you certainly won’t miss the red-brick building, which has been standing since 1824.

The location couldn’t be better, and it’s an easy five minute walk to the city centre. The hotel was closed for eighteen months a few years ago, and given a makeover that has since brought in plenty of crowds.

Make sure you get a south-facing room, so you’ll have views of the mountains, compared with the north-facing rooms which don’t have a view at all.
