The Most Beautiful Botanical Gardens in Madeira

The Monte Palace Tropical Garden, Funchal, Madeira. The botanical gardens on a Portuguese island are said to be the most beautiful in the world. Located on the Monte mountain, the gorgeous gardens surround Monte Palace and museum, which also exhibits the African art.

The Monte Palace Tropical Garden exhibits thousands of exotic plants from all over the world. Among the various flowers, the visitors also get to admire the swans, Koy fishes and incredible architecture, which makes the gardens look like a magic place from a fairy tale.

Why to go there?

The Portuguese archipelago fascinates with a dynamic nature: from sandy beaches to mountains – the variety of activities is diverse. The Monte Palace Tropical Garden is certainly one of the most beautiful and rich botanical gardens in the world.

When to go there?

The climate doesn’t change much through the year. The gardens are open and well maintained all year long, except the 25th December.

How to get there?

Get a cable car from Funchal.
